Teaching Your Kids to Eat Intuitively

Teaching your kids to eat Intuitively is possible even if your relationship to food has never been the best. Parents want to do best for their kids. Going to the ends of the earth to make sure of this. But why do they leave developing a normal appetite to chance?

The reason is parents don’t know how to teach their kids to eat Intuitively. This is because doing it seems to go against everything you every learned about eating. 

They ask themselves, “Won’t my kids eat only want to eat pizza, ice-cream and crisps if I allow them to eat freely?” Of course the answer is “no”, they will become “habituated” to food and develop a normal relationship with food by deciding for themselves what they like to eat. 

“Won’t they eat all the time if we don’t have strict meal “times?” Of course the answer is “no”, they will develop the ability to perceive when they are physically hungry and that food taste its best when they are. They will therefore develop a strong drive to only eat when they are physically hungry.

“Won’t they eat much more than they need?” Of course the answer is “no”, they will develop the ability to perceive when they are physically full and psychologically satisfied (as long as they can choose the food themselves!) They will therefore develop a strong drive to only eat until their physical hunger disappears.
